by

Anti-war activists in New Jersey are urging supporters to contact William Patterson University today, March 9, to protest the recent arrest of student Tom Keenan. On Feb. 28 Keenan was arrested on trespassing charges for handing out anti-recruitment fliers near a military recruitment table. Click here for more information on the campaign.

Actions are being planned at William Patterson for both the day of Keenan’s court appearance and for on March 31st when the school hosts a “career day” featuring military recruiters.

  1. Point of information Says:

Title 118, Part 1, Chapter 115, Section 2388, Subsection A of the U.S. Code, states: “Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully causes or attempts to cause…or willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Subsection b states: If two or more persons conspire to violate subsection (a) of this section and one or more such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each of the parties to such conspiracy shall be punished as provided in said subsection (a).

  2. James Monroe Says:

    Amendment I [1791]

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech; or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.

(Sad and tragic how quickly the fascists overlook this for everybody else besides themselves).
