Was May the fifth month in a row that the Army missed its monthly recruiting goals?
The Defense Department announced Wednesday that it is altering how the monthly recruiting numbers are released. Until now, each service – the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force – released separate reports on recruiting goals. Now the Pentagon, according to the Navy Times, plans to release one “consolidated monthly release.” The change will allow the Pentagon to “review” the data before it is released.
Asked whether the move would simply delay the release of bad news, Pentagon spokeswoman Ellen Krenke, said, “That’s not necessarily true.”
